I. Background
Thammasat University's Research Unit in Urban Futures and Policy (UFP) is a research unit specialized in Urban Sustainability and Urban Development policy. We advocate our members and researchers’ interests, to promote the development of Sustainability and Resilient in urbanization and city development. We are seeking an expert(s) in Energy and Transport, to support our project: Integrated Urban Climate Action for Low-Carbon & Resilient Cities (Urban-Act) funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). In this project, we aim to develop guidelines, workplans, and framework to promote a sustainable and resilient city. Also, to enhance the enabling environment for climate-sensitive and climate-resilient urban development at the local and national levels.

II. Employment duration : 36 months

III. Responsibilities:
• Support technical information to develop the strategic framework and guidelines to conceptualize resilient spatial planning and energy resilient transport infrastructure.

• Identify climate hazards in the selected area.

• Analyze climate risk trends focusing on human settlement, security sector, and transport sector, and its interactions with energy sector in the selected area.

• Identify critical infrastructure, resilient measures, and nature-based solutions to support the integrated climate-sensitive land-use and transport planning.

• Support the development of gamification to encourage adaptive planning, adaptive governance, and comprehensive land use planning.

• Identify data requirements and indicators for monitoring low-carbon and resilient spatial development.

IV. Requirements:
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Material Science, or related fields.

• Has experience in working on energy and transportation policy and planning, especially in the domain of climate resilience.

• Excel in project management and communication.
